Note, the ANZ Roy Morgan weekly Consumer Sentiment (latest is here) has been on the improve, so I’d think it likely we’ll see a bit of improvement from this Westpac survey today.

We also get comments from a Australian central banker at some stage – Ewald Nowotny is speaking at a Euromoney conference in Vienna. Oh, wait, no that’s Austria … (that was a joke, BTW … if you’ve ever told anyone you’re Australian and they say they love Vienna, you’ll get it).
Ewald Nowotny is president of the National Bank of Austria and member of the European Central Bank ’s governing council. He likes football, meat pies, kangaroos and Holden cars.
