- The seasonally adjusted number of new dwellings consented decreased 2.1 percent
- Excluding apartments, this number was up 1.6 percent.
For the y/y:
- New dwellings consented in 2014 up 16 percent from 2013,
- “The annual number of new dwellings is at its highest level since 2007. This was mainly driven by increases in Auckland and Canterbury,” business indicators manager Neil Kelly said
- Total value of building work consented in 2014 was $14.6 billion (up 21 percent from 2013)
- The trend for the number of new dwellings, including apartments, is showing signs of increasing after a brief dip in the middle of 2014.
