ANZ:
We expect private capex to have risen a modest 1.2% in Q4
- with both construction (+1.7%)
- and machinery & equipment investment (+0.6%) expanding
Further, we anticipate another upward revision to firms' spending plans for 2017-18.
NAB:
ABS Capital Expenditure (capex) data
- containing data on actual capex in the December quarter
- the fifth estimate of investment for 2017/18
- and the first estimate of investment for 2018/19
Investment partials and survey indicators have been more positive in recent times - as a result, the market is expecting solid growth of 1% in the quarter and a lift in estimated 2018/19 capex to $86.5 billion, from a first estimate of $81.2 billion in 2017/18.
