Erase earlier losses in the major indices
The major US indices are ending the day in the black after an up and down day. Earlier losses were recovered.
- The S&P index up 2.55 points or 0.10% at 2584.85. The high reach 2587.66 while the low extended down to 2574.48
- The NASDAQ composite index is closing up 6.65 points or +0.10% at 6757.59. the high reached 67 while the low extended to 6723.43
- The Dow industrial average is closing up 17.5 points or +0.7% at 23439.70.
GE took it on the chin, down by -7.17%. The conglomerate cut their dividend in half and announced a turnaround plan which investors viewed with skepticism
