Bank of Japan governor Kuroda speaks in parliament

  • Inflation has been steadily rising in the last two years
  • Japan has been implementing strong quantitative easing
  • Will continue with powerful, monetary easing
  • Fiscal policy has had some effect in stimulating demand
  • Bank's income from lending has been declining under QE
  • Doesn't think financial intermediation function has been hurt yet
  • Will continue to carefully look at impact from policy

Nothing more from Kuroda at the moment. And his comments here surely isn't anything that we already haven't heard before.

The same old mantra once again from the man at the helm of the BOJ.
