It's a fairly sparse calendar today, New Zealand to kick if off
2145 GMT - New Zealand - Trade balance for October
- expected deficit of 760m NZD, prior -1143m
2350 GMT - Japan - international securities flows for the week ended November 17
0030 GMT - Japan - The preliminary manufacturing PMI for November
- Nikkei / Markit Manufacturing PMI
- prior was 52.8
0110 GMT - Bank of Japan buying Japanese Government Bonds
10 to 25 year maturities and 25+ year maturities
Much later, 0500 GMT Japan again, leading and coincident indexes for September, final
- preliminary were 106.6 and 115.8 respectively
The NZ data may give the kiwi a wobble or two, otherwise I don't expect much from the data today. There are political events to watch for though - these often pop up out of the blue.
