Blankfein said to be preparing to step down as soon as year end
On Friday, the WSJ reported that Lloyd Blankfein is preparing to leave. Solomon was said to be competing with Harvey Schwartz.
Solomon studied political science at Hamilton College in upstate New York and was thought to be a less-likely candidate than Schwartz. Solomon comes from the investment banking side of Goldman he's also a part-time DJ under the handle DJ D-Sol.
Schwartz was said to campaign aggressively for the job and this might mean he's on the way out the door.
Update: Schwartz will retire.
