Irish foreign minister speaking to RTE radio 8 Dec

  • latest deal very good for everyone on the island of Ireland
  • border agreement puts a floor on what's possible in outcome of EU/UK trade talks

DUP spokesman:

  • more work needed on areas of co-operation where it would be necessary to have alignment of rules and standards
  • more work needed on how any alignment could be effected without staying in single market and customs union.
  • ntg agreed until everything agreed, how we vote on phase 2 deal will depend on its content.

In my earlier post I mentioned that the DUP leader Foster had expressed some concerns still I the final text but May proceeded to present it to Brussels anyway. That's taking some gloss off the current euphoria

GBP steadying again though and now 1.3485 as EURGBP falls to test decent support around 0.8700

DUP and its leader Arlene Foster still has some areas of concern
