Japan finance minister Taro Aso with some comments

  • Says that the BOJ is banned from buying foreign bonds for the purpose of affecting currency movement
  • BOJ is doing easing as part of anti-deflation policy, not to affect currency movement
  • Foreign bond purchases if allowed would basically mean FX intervention
  • That may cause misunderstanding in the global community

Seems like he's moved on from the Moritomo issue rather quickly. No takeaways though from his comments here, pretty much reiterating current policy stance of the central bank.
