Strong hiring intentions for Q1

Outside of Austria and Italy, the year ahead is a good time to be looking for work, according to the Q1 hiring survey from ManpowerGroup.

They noted that in 41 of the 43 countries surveyed, hiring intentions are positive for early next year.

The strongest outlooks are in the US, Japan and India. Other countries at five year highs are Australia, Norway and Romania. Meanwhile, UK intentions are at the lowest since 2012 but still positive despite Brexit.

"Employers across the globe and especially in the U.S, Asia Pacific and parts of Europe are positive across a number of sectors, and people with in-demand skills will find themselves in high demand," said Jonas Prising, ManpowerGroup CEO in a press release.
