Moody's with some comments on the Chinese economy

  • Says that containment of financial risk remains a priority
  • Liquidity has been tight, especially for smaller banks and non-bank financial institutions
  • Authorities are likely to maintain their tight policy stance in 2018 because containment of risks in the financial system is key priority

Mainly reiterating the obvious focus of Chinese authorities this year. Deleveraging and toning down on credit growth (which in turn lessens financial risks to some extent) is a key pillar of interest for them, and it will continue to be a point that will be hammered home as long as Xi Jinping is at the helm.
