UK PM May still making her keynote Brexit speech at Mansion House 2 Mar

That's a real sticking point. The EU have always said the ECJ (European Court of Justice) must still continue to have final rule on law post-Brexit. The UK has always said not.

  • there are tensions in EU's position
  • pursuing unfair subsidies would be wrong
  • it would be unacceptable to break up common market
  • no side can have exactly what they want but I'm confident of an agreement
  • if we are cherry picking on trade then every trade deal is cherry picking
  • EU is rightly taking a tailored approach in what it wants on trade

May responding to her critics that she and the UK are cherry picking on Brexit deal.

GBP still unfazed with the lack of anything new so far. A lot of this speech we already know from before or been leaked over past 24 hours.
