Tokyo's main index closes lower as Asian stocks fall on the back of negative tones on Wall St

Equities remain on the backfoot today, as sentiment from Wall Street spills over to Asian trading as well. The Hang Seng is down by 0.45%, Kospi down by 1.17%, Taiex down by 0.27%. Earlier, Australia's ASX 200 closed lower by 0.71% as well.
The only ones to buck the trend among the major indices are Chinese shares, with the Shanghai Composite and CSI 300 300 flat on the day and up by 0.12% respectively.
