September is supposed to be a challenging month too.
The major US stock indices are ending the day on the defensive but there was a decent bounce midday that took some of the sting away.
- The S&P is ending the session -18.70 points or -0.76% to 2457.85. The low did extend to 2446.55. So there was a 11 point increase off the lows.
- The Nasdaq fell as low as 6334.59. The index is closing at 6375.31, down -59.75 or -0.93%
- The Dow tumbled to a low of 21709.63 but closed at 21753.31, down -234.25 or -1.07%
Concerns for stocks?
- No Korea. The story gets rehashed but with the market closed yesterday, today was the first day to trade it
- Immigration.
- Debt ceiling concerns.
- More talk on tax vs action
- Another hurricane is barreling toward the US. Where will it land? It is expected to run into at least a part of Florida toward the end of the week.
