The program halted deportation of illegal immigrants who came as children

Attorney General Jeff Sessions will announce today that the administration is ending the program that allowed most illegal immigrants who entered the country as children to stay.

Axios obtained a draft press release. It says the program will be wound down and no action will be taken before March 5, 2018, which gives Congress time to deliver legislation.

Ending the program is being criticized as cruel because it could result in deportations of people who arrived in the US at a very young age.
