S&P index up 1.00%. Nasdaq surges by 1.34%

The major US indices are ending the session with strong gains.

The S&P index is up 1.00% at 2465.69.
The Nasdaq index is ending up 1.34% at 6340.234. Best day since June 28th.
The Dow is up 135.12 points or 0.62% to 21993

Less concern about No. Korea helped the stocks.

Facebook and Amazon were up about 1.58% each. Netflix moved lower after a weekend negative Barron's article. Banks did well as interest rates moved higher. Last week, interest rates declined on the back of a flight to quality bid. That hurt bank stocks. Today was a strong bounce back. JP Morgan ended up 1.17%. Citigroup ended up 1.63%. Wells Fargo was up 1.71%.
