The YoY for November 9.2% vs 10.0% last month

The Teranet/National Bank home price index for November is coming in lower by -0.5% vs -1.0% decline last month.

  • YoY the change was also lower vs last month. The YoY gain is now 9.2% vs 10.0% in October.
  • The decline is the 3rd straight monthly decline
  • The index fell to 217.10 vs 218.13 last month
  • The year to date gain comes in at 8.87%
  • indexes were down for four of the 11 Metropolitan areas. Hamilton felt like -1.6%. Toronto fell by -1.4%. Vancouver and Victoria were flat. Montréal increased by 1.0% in Québec rose by 0.9% leading the gainers.
  • The condo subindex fell -4.4% in two months and then partly recovered with a gain of 2.3% over the last two months.
  • However the sub index for other types of housing declines in each of the last five months for a total drop of -10.8%. Last month the decline was -0.6% which was the smallest decline over that period.

The USDCAD is lower but mainly as a result of the US CPI data (most likely).
