S&P 500 edges higher

The S&P 500 is up 5 points shortly after the open, following yesterday's 35 point decline.

Futures turned higher after the inflation report. The chances of the Fed hiking in December are dwindling and that's good news for equities. The market is also peeking out of the bunker after digging in for nuclear war yesterday.

If the market can get a bit of momentum (+10 maybe?), the dip buyers will start piling in. That said, the old adage is that markets don't bottom of Fridays, so take that for what it's worth.
