Trump on Canada
The background here is a Washington Post report today that Trump admitted to fundraisers to making up that the US had a trade deficit with Canada in a meeting with Justin Trudeau.
The new development here is that he admits to making it up in the audio. He's been telling a similar version of the same story for awhile.
In 2017, the US had a $23.1 billion deficit in goods, but a $25.9 billion surplus in services trade with Canada, according to the US Bureau of Economic Analysis. Obviously, energy and timbre are included in that.
