Turkish economic minister Zeybecki speaking to Reuters 21 July

  • German investments in Turkey fully guaranteed by both Turkish govt and its laws
  • crisis with Germany is temporary

"The Turkey-Germany crisis is temporary. One must refrain from words that would cause lasting harm to the economies. Germany must reassess comments that are inappropriate"

I'm not so sure Germany's Gabriel would agree after those comments yesterday that I reported here .

The Die Zeit newspaper this week reported that Turkish authorities had several weeks ago handed the German govt a list of 68 companies inc Daimler and BASF, they accused of having links to US-based cleric Fethullah Gulen.

Situation definitely needs monitoring and could yet impact on markets/euro pairs.
