Latest data release by ONS - 21 December 2017

  • Prior £7.5 bn; revised to £7.2 bn
  • Public sector net borrowing (ex-banks) £8.7 bn vs £9.0 bn expected
  • Prior (ex-banks) £8.0 bn; revised to £7.8 bn
  • UK April-November budget deficit at £48.1 bn, down 6.1%

That's the lowest budget deficit since 2007 as tax receipts grew 5% on the month.

Not much reaction in the GBP, but cable is testing session highs of 1.3383 - but more so to dollar weakness as EUR/USD is also higher and USD/JPY is parring gains.
