Major indices end higher
The major US stock indices are ending the session higher although Facebook still lags. Despite the fall, the large social media platform company is ending the session well off its lows. It is ending down -$4.41 at $168.15. The low reached $161.98.
- The S&P ends up 4.02 points or +0.15% at 2716.94
- The Nasdaq index closed higher by 20.057 points or +0.27% at 7364.30
- The Dow closed up 116.36 points or 0.47% at 24727.27

- Nvidia, up 3.56%
- Adobe, up 3.41%
- Amazon, up 2.69%
- First Solar, up 2.44%
- Alibaba, up 2.31%
- Boeing, up 1.82%
- Micron, up 1.68%
- Intel, up 1.42%
- Visa, up 1.38%.
In addition to Facebooks, the underachievers included:
- Twitter, tumbled -10.41%
- GE fell -3.06%
- AMD, fell -2.81%
- Facebook fell -2.56%
- Phillip Morris, -1.44%
- Broadcom fell -1.06%
