Dow lead the gains
The Dow closes at yet another record with a gain of 167 points. Caterpillar and 3M contributed about 120 points of that gain.
Nevertheless, there were gains in the other broader indices. The summary for the day shows:
- S&P index up 4.17 points or 0.16% to 2569.14. The low reached 2565.58. The high reached 2572.18
- Nasdaq rose 11.604 points or +0.18%. The low reached 6582.06. The high reached 6611.90
- Dow closed up 167.80 points or 0.72%. The low reached 23343.23. The high reached 23485.25
Caterpillar rose 4.98% on the day.
3M did even better rising by 5.91% on the day.
