A sharp spike up to 1.2724 from 1.2690 25 Oct

Earlier I posted on significant option contract expiries today at 1.2700 and in the absence of any other prime movers I'm suggesting someone has taken a timely decision to drive it higher to protect their interest.

BOC interest rate decision today out at the same time too so that should make it interesting. Perhaps a dovish-view punt now being made ahead of 14.00 GMT

Thin liquidity at the best of times on interbank/wholesale CAD so it doesn't take much to shake it up with markets dancing on hot coals anyway.

Remember that these are "vanilla" options so still in play right up to expiry at 14.00 GMT even if breached in the meantime, unlike barrier options which cease to be once hit. The actual amounts can change right up to expiry.
