As Trump goes off Robert Mueller and his Russian investigation, Trump called Russians President Putin to congratulate him on his re-election.
According to reports the leaders discussed arranging a possible bilateral meeting.
The White House is saying:
- The US will continue to be tough when necessary on Russia will continue to have dialogue
- There are no specific plans made this time for trying to meet Putin
- Trump did not raise issue of election meddling in call with Putin
- Trump is not considering or discussing the firing of special counsel Mueller.
