CBOE January contract up sharply but after some early volume, has seen activity fall off
The CBOE opened their bitcoin contract for January settle on Sunday, and volume in the contract somewhat muted. The total volume in the first couple of hours was only 800 contracts or so. The last 6 or hours has seen volumes mostly less than 100 contracts per hour. The largest volume in a single hour was 608 contracts today.
The price is nevertheless less up about $2800 from the low today and trades at $17,810. The price is trading at a premium to the spot contract which currently trades at $16,440.
