European shares for the day ended mostly lower, with Spain's Ibex bucking the trend.
For the week, the Nasdaq index rose 3.45% - leading the US market. Canada's S&P/TSX rose 3.59%. In Europe, Italy's FTSE MIB led with a gain of 2.43%. Japan's Nikkei rose 4.08% this week.
