According to The Sun

  • Theresa May to fly to Brussels to plead with European officials to give her more time to strike a deal with Cabinet members
  • May is said to want to keep hopes of a deal this month alive but needs more time to strike a compromise on backstop

That's not exactly good news as it means more can kicking. End of November suddenly doesn't look very likely at this point. And the further we push into December, it will bring worries we may not see a deal come to fruition by the time the calendar flips over to 2019.

It's more of a case that European leaders are not wanting to rush things and if they maintain that a proposal needs to come by next week, then we could be staring at a December timeline instead. That leaves very little room to manoeuvre and if there is any gridlock, it means there may not be a deal this year.
