  • Initial jobless claims 180K versus estimate of 180K
  • 4 week moving average initial jobs claims 177.25K versus 172.75K last week
  • Continuing claims 1.408M versus expectations of 1.403M estimate. The prior week was revised to 1.409M from 1.417M previously reported.
  • 4 week moving average of continuing claims 1.482M. This is the lowest since March 21, 1971 was at 1.457M
  • The largest increases in initial claims for the week ending April 9 were in Missouri (+7,194), Michigan (+5,950), California (+3,215), Indiana (+3,193), and Texas (+2,617),
  • The largest decreases were in Ohio (-3,886), Wisconsin (-1,159), Oklahoma (-776), Utah (-270), and Hawaii (-219).
