Portugal's Centeno became head of the EU fin min group on Jan 13th replacing Dutch fin min Dijsselbloem. His election was supported by France, Germany and Italy, and defeated in two rounds of votes three other candidates among the bloc's fin mins Dana Reizniece-Ozola of Latvia, Pierre Gramegna of Luxembourg and Peter Kazimir of Slovakia
