Brazilian Senate will vote to impeach today

The long, corrupt saga of Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff's latest term in office may take a final turn today. The country's politics have more drama than an episode of Game of Thrones.

Lawmakers will meet a noon local time and may debate her impeachment for 10 hours in a session that isn't scheduled to end until 10 pm.

It's widely expected Rousseff will be sent to an impeachment trial by the Senate. The opposition needs 41 votes and appears to have 50 or 51, according to the local press.

The move would put Vice President Michel Temer in charge for at least 180 days.Temer will immediately name a new cabinet but the knives are out for him as well.
