The ECB has just announced that contact information has been stolen from its public website. They say that there has been a theft of contact details and email addresses and data of people who have registered for events. While the majority of the data was encrypted some email, addresses and phone numbers weren’t
They add that no market sensitive data was pilfered. The theft came to light after an anonymous email was sent to them demanding money for the data back.
Glad to see things are nice and secure at one of the biggest central banks on the planet.
