At 0130GMT we have “today’s most-awaited”, the Reserve Bank of Australia’s minutes of the May 7 monetary policy meeting (the meeting of the ‘surprise’ rate cut). The minutes are are published two weeks after each meeting. The market will be looking at the minutes to try to get a gauge on the direction and timing of future monetary policy decisions.

Other events on the Aussie horizon include the Australian secretary to the Treasury delivering his post-budget speech. Martin Parkinson is due to speak at 0230GMT. At 0000GMT the Conference Board announce their leading index for Australia, for March.
