NASDAQ composite index the biggest decliner
The Dow closed at a new record, but the S&P and Nasdaq ended a little lower but off session lows.
- The S&P 500 index is ending the sesssion down -0.57 points or -0.02% at 2590.57. The low reached 2584.35. The high 2597.02.
- The NASDAQ composite index closed down -18.654 points or -0.27% at 6767.78. The low reached 6750.34. The high extended to 6795.52
- The Dow industrial average rose 8.81 points to a record close. The low fell to 23484. The high extended to 23602.
Bank stocks were lower as the yields in the US continue to flatten the yield curve.
- J.P. Morgan fell back below $100 to $98.75, down -2.01% on the day
- Citigroup also fell. It was down $1.09 or -1.48% at $72.71
Other stocks saw:
- Apple up $0.56 or 0.32% to $174.81
- Facebook was near unchanged at $180.25.
- Microsoft fell $-0.20 or -0.24% to $84.27
- Nvidia which reports earnings on Thursday, advanced +$2.40 or 1.15% to $212.03.
