For those who maybe haven’t heard enough from Kuroda over the past 24 hours, he is at it again today from 0100GMT.

He is at a parliamentary hearing for part 2 of his confirmation hearing. Apparently he is scheduled to be there for 40 minutes.

In March, Kuroda was confirmed by both houses of parliament to serve from March 20 to April 7 (the final weeks of his predecessor’s (Shirakawa) term). Now approval is needed for appointment to the full five-year term as BOJ head. There is little doubt his appointment will be confirmed, though the DPJ (the main opposition party) has said they wanted to assess his performance at the first BOJ policy meeting (i.e. yesterday’s meeting). Given the Nikkei soared after the BOJ announcement these guys will have all made loads of cash yesterday and will be happy to confirm his appointment.
