Chinese markets reopen today after the Golden week holiday

While we wait ... Yi Gang, deputy governor of the PBOC, speaking in Lima, Peru, ahead of the IMF meetings there has a message for us on the Chinese economy:

  • "I would say, don't worry"
  • "China will still have pretty much middle-to-high growth in the near future"
  • "A lot of people are considering a slowdown of the Chinese economy," ... But he insisted that Chinese imports of raw materials for its industrial economy will grow steadily in the future.
