ECB and Bundesbank head on Bloomberg

  • Economic situation in Germany and Eurozone is different
  • ECB must take into account all Eurozone citizens
  • Expansionary monetary policy is appropriate

His comments are coming from Washington where central bankers and fin mins are meeting for an IMF shindig. At the same time as these hit, Schaeuble was also out with some words of wisdom;

  • Says he's a defender of the ECB's independence
  • ECB is overburdened as the sole functioning institution

He's definitely softened his tone since last week where he was shaping up to have a right old dust off with Draghi.
