Poll shows most analysts expect the next BOJ rate move to be a hike
There was no survey question on it'll happen when hell freezes over.
Anyway, via Reuters poll:
In April the BOJ said declared it would keep rates super low (short-term interest rate target at minus 0.1% and long-term yields at around zero) for at least another year to dispel any doubt over its commitment to ultra-loose policy
Asked if the new guidance increased the likelihood of more stimulus steps by the BOJ, 33 of 39 analysts said "no"
- six answered "yes"
Asked about the BOJ's next step, 25 of 40 economists predicted it would start phasing out its easy monetary policy
- 15 economists said it would adopt more stimulus
