Much like the Saxony report, the annual headline inflation disappoints relative to November. Meanwhile, Hesse figures are also released and shows a similar softening in the headline inflation:

Expect the national reading later in the day to come in softer as well, as per expectations. EUR/USD has seen its earlier gains erased as the dollar recovers some poise against the likes of the pound and kiwi as well. The pair now sits at 1.1438. Meanwhile, EUR/GBP continues to hold steady near 0.9050.
