Highlights of the Canadian December manufacturing PMI from RBC:
- Prior was 48.6
It broke the October survey all-time low of 48.0 (however the series only began at the start of 2013 so that doesn't say that much).
All the hopes for a weak CAD to boost manufacturing are fading. There has never been any evidence of it anyway, aside from Poloz's ramblings. No one is building a new factory in Canada because of a weak CAD when they could just as easily build it in Mexico.
