China officials say daily electricity generation up 1.17% y/y in April, consumption +2%

The State Grid Corporation of China is the state-owned electric utility monopoly. The State Grid Energy Research Institute:

• says that daily electricity generation up 1.17% y/y in April
• and electricity consumption is expected to have increased 2%

Earlier data from China today:

• China April Industrial production 3.9% y/y & Retail sales -7.5% y/y

The supply side seems to be recovering, the demand side not though.
