Comments by ECB governing council member, Benoit Coeure
He's speaking in an interview on France Inter Radio. Nothing more from Coeure so far, just reiterating that the central bank will want to keep its options open.
The current forward guidance remains that the ECB will only move to raise rates "through the summer of 2019" but recent commentary suggests that they want to leave open the option to push that back particularly when they see that downside risks are increasing.
EUR/USD sits at 1.1404 currently, near the highs for the day but still in a narrow range. EUR/GBP remains rather flat at 0.9019 currently.
