EU document ahead of the G20
That's rich coming from the same EU leaders who punished Italy for months because they wanted to run a deficit that was a fraction larger than the EU likes.
Other comments:
- To warn G20 that global growth could stall due to trade tensions
- To tell OECD to update list of tax havens
- To call on G20 nations to support mandatory disclosure rules for banks, lawyers and tax intermediaries to counter tax avoidance
I think the tax avoidance story is a bigger one that most people believe. There are vast amounts of money held offshore in secrecy jurisdictions and if Europe leads a crackdown it may flow into dollars.
