A hint of a process towards an olive branch? Perhaps too early to draw any conclusions from this. The pound is basically gyrating up and down from all sorts of rumours about the Murrison amendment and what not. At this point, expect most media reporters to just talk about anything as long as it draws the crowd.
GBP/USD rose to 1.2870 from 1.2850 levels and then quickly retraced those gains back to 1.2855 currently.
