Italian finance minister Pier Carlo Padoan says that both Italy and Germany are on exactly the same line when it comes to flexibility over reforms and that the Italian government is determined on its reform program. Its other purpose is to help other states with incentives for reforms.
No doubt some of the flexible approaches Italy want to push for will be very much in the best interests of Italy first. They’ve got six months in chair at the head of the European table to make things happen.
