Repubblica reports on the matter

  • There's still no agreement on trimming two key Italian reforms
  • Conte to meet with Salvini, Di Maio to discuss further on the budget

That's hardly surprising. As mentioned earlier in the week, Conte seems to be taking up budget discussions with the European Commission with his own hands but it remains to be seen if he's actually discussed things with his deputies. This here shows that likely isn't the case and Salvini and Di Maio will certainly not be happy if they have to scale back on citizens' income or pension reforms to accommodate Conte's wishes.

Let's see if they'll be able to work things out ahead of reports that they will resubmit the budget proposal again next week.
