Latest data released by METI - 14 September 2018
- Industrial production +2.2% vs +2.3% y/y prelim
- Capacity utilisation -0.6% vs -2.2% m/m prior
Slight delay in the release by the source. Preliminary figures can be found here. Not much change to initial estimates so the release here isn't anything new to factory activity outlook. It does seem like METI is expecting things to improve from here with more positive forecasts seen for August (+5.6% m/m) and September (+0.5% m/m). A minor data point though.
