Earthquake hits off the coast of Indonesia

There are no reports of a tsunami yet. The earthquake's epicenter was 173 kilometers North-northwest of Ternate, Moluccas, Indonesia and was at a depth of 10km, according to the USGS.

Update: The USGS says there is no tsunami threat from this earthquake, which follows a 7.2 magnitude quake on December 29 in the same area. It was also downgraded to magnitude 6.6.

"Based on all available data, there is no tsunami threat from this earthquake," the USGS said in a statement.
