Canada sidelined?
Pena Nieto says he's "quite hopeful" Canada will be part of the trade deal.
That suggests it will go ahead whether Canada likes it or not. Previously, Mexico had always said it was a three-party agreement.
Trump's comments about renaming it the US-Mexico trade deal also hint that Canada is in for a much tougher ride than Canadian officials have said. Trump added that "we'll see" if Canada is separate or a part of the deal and that it would be the easiest thing to do to put tariffs on Canadian cars.
On the flip side, officials have said they think the Canada side of the deal could be done this week, so it's all very murky.
