What's on Tuesday's Asia-Pacific docket
New Zealand returns from holiday Tuesday after a long weekend. They kiwi fell 40 pips on Monday in their absence after it led all G10 currencies last week.
There isn't anything notable on the NZ calendar there are a few notable releases elsewhere. The RBA is in focus with Debelle speaking at 2235 GMT and Bullock at 0300 GMT followed by a second helping of Debelle at 0430 GMT.
Debelle also spoke Monday and noted that other countries were able to push unemployment lower than they thought without wage inflation.
For Japan there are September department store sales at 0530 GMT and the Sept final report on machine tool orders at 0600 GMT. I don't expect a meaningful market move on either.
The focus will once again be on Chinese equity markets after the biggest two-day rally in three years on Fri/Mon.
We'll also keep an eye out for any headlines in after-hours earnings that might apply to the broader market.
